I have a MAC computer, can you still help?

Yes, we can remotely repair and service MAC (10.3.9 – 10.5) and Linux based computers as well as Windows (95 – Vista).

I only have a dial-up connection, can you still help?

Yes, we can connect to your computer through any live and active broadband or a dial-up connection.

How long does the process take?

Some repairs can be completed literally within minutes, however a full service can take hours to complete as we perform a disk scan, defrag, virus scan, windows update, third party software updates e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe, Java and crucial driver updates. However if we are resolving a particular issue this can depend on the severity of the problem. The engineer is able to give you an estimated timescale for each issue raised.

I’m not in the UK, can I still use your services?

Very much so. We can carry out remote computer repairs wherever you are in the world provided you have a live and active dial-up or broadband connection.

My friend had to stay with the computer to restart it when she used a similar service, but I work part time. Will this be a problem?

Not a problem for us. Our system allows our engineer to reboot/restart your computer entirely remotely so you can do whatever you want once the engineer is able to access your computer.

I am paranoid about security since something nasty got onto my computer a while back. Do I have to disable my firewall and antivirus while the engineer works to repair my computer?

No, there’s no need to turn off any of your security software such as firewalls and antivirus during the remote diagnosis and repair service.

I have a 12 month support contract with you and the picture on the new monitor I’ve just plugged in looks terrible. Can you help?

Yes, adjusting screen resolution is one of the things covered by the support contract.

I am on a 12 month contract. Does that mean that Remote Computer Repairs could access my computer at any time?

No. You would have to submit a support request and actively initiate the connection which allows the engineer to log on and carry out the remote computer repairs, service or diagnostics that your request detailed.

I’ve just been sent an email by a friend warning about a new virus that antivirus software doesn’t protect you from so I’m scared I might be infected. Can you help?

Yes, both our Instant Repair and 12 month Support contracts cover free antivirus removal, but you should first do a quick Google search for “Hoax” plus the name of the virus your friend ‘warned’ you about. There are a lot of scary warning emails circulating but a lot are hoaxes.

Can I still register and request support if I don't have access to my email?

Yes - Register, first and then telephone us on our Local Rate Number. Our Support Engineer will instruct you on what to do next.
